On the eve of Black Friday and Christmas, the cooperatives Opcions and L'Apóstrof share strategies and recommendations to consume and satisfy needs taking into account the impact.

"Conscious consumption is satisfying our needs taking into account the impact of this consumption. If we practice conscious consumption, we must try to make this impact as negative as possible for people and for the territory", says Joana Ariet of the Opcions cooperative . In all cases, the first recommendation is to reflect and assess the specific need. "Many times what happens to us during times of Black Friday or sales is that we are seduced by these discounts and unwittingly we are creating a need for what is so discounted. Also, at Christmas, there are many strategies we can apply to avoid having to buy, to avoid having to access the market", says Ariet. "We can opt for the exchange and in many cases, especially in electronic and technological matters, for the repair of the product. There are many possibilities to do this, such as the repair workshops that are promoted by many municipalities and many entities", adds Ariet.

"An ecoweb is a page that prioritizes minimizing its environmental impact. Until now, various aspects have been taken into account when making a web page, such as, for example, the number of visits, design, interactions or usability, but we believe that the its environmental impact", explains Martí Lázaro of the cooperative L'Apòstrof . Together with the Jamgo cooperative, they have recently presented a project that seeks to raise public awareness of the environmental impact generated by the digital world. "There are many ways to deal with it from web pages, but also from social networks, from emails, from live broadcasts or from artificial intelligence tools. However, the main recommendation is to be aware of it. Knowing that the digital world has a very high consumption in the environmental field and that it is necessary to try to minimize actions as much as possible", concludes Lázaro.
