In the coming weeks, the Canòdrom. L’Ateneu d’Innovació Digital i Democràtica., located at 165 Concepción Arenal Street in the city of Barcelona, will seek to create a space to reflect on the social and environmental impact of new technologies. Within the framework of a new thematic cycle focused on sustainable artificial intelligence, three dynamic and complementary activities will be organized to explore central themes such as, for example, planned obsolescence, the plundering of natural resources and local and sustainable artificial intelligence models. Specifically, the first activity will take place next Wednesday, February 19, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and will present local artificial intelligence tools that go beyond those that depend on large corporations or extractivist systems through Digicòria. The second activity will take place next Thursday, February 27, from 6 to 8 p.m., and will discuss the environmental impact of the daily use of new technologies through a practical and experiential dynamic led by Colectic and the Aula Ambiental de Sant Andreu. Finally, the third activity will take place next Thursday, April 3, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and will address the environmental footprint of artificial intelligence tools and how these new technologies can be rethinked by researcher Ana Valdívia and the Tu Nube Seca Mi Río collective.
