Last Thursday, May 29, in the Sala Cotxeres of the Palau Robert, the results of the second edition of the DonaTIC Barometer were presented. Promoted by the Cercle Tecnològic de Catalunya and the Secretariat of Digital Policies of the Generalitat de Catalunya , the report analyses the presence of women within the Catalan technology sector and frames it within the international technological context. Unfortunately, the study once again highlighted that the gender gap continues to be a structural challenge within the Catalan technology sector. Currently, only 1 in 3 professionals within the technology sector are female technologists.
In this sense, the presentation of the results of the second edition of the DonaTIC Barometer was held within the framework of the event 'Digital Talent, an opportunity for Catalonia', which was attended by the Minister of Business and Employment, Miquel Sàmper, who announced the National Pact for Digital Talent, a key initiative to promote the inclusion and competitiveness of the technology sector. The event also included the participation of Xavier Sellarès, director of the Cercle Tecnològic de Catalunya, Maria Galindo, secretary of Digital Policies of the Generalitat of Catalonia, and Sandra Ruiz, general director of Digital Economy and Society of the Generalitat of Catalonia. Alejandro Carballo from Vodafone, Sonia Cañizares from Sopra Steria, Conxi Pérez from RolldBoxGames and Jaume Sanpera from Sateliot also participated. The event allowed reflection on the potential of Catalonia as an essential pole of attraction for digital talent.
