This 2025, the Punt Òmnia of La Seu d'Urgell will be part of the second pilot test of the virtual assistant in Catalan Cati. Designed by a young student from Alt Urgell, Markus Urban, the technological tool is designed to improve the well-being and quality of life of the elderly. Last year, the first pilot test of the project was carried out by twelve users of the Punt TIC. The reception was very good and the experience served to collect ideas and reflections to increase the functionalities of the virtual assistant Cati. Along these lines, during the coming weeks, the second pilot test of the virtual assistant in Catalan Cati will be developed, which will have the collaboration of the Espai de la Gent Gran of La Seu d'Urgell. This time, the Punt Òmnia of La Seu d'Urgell will become a reference space in the digital accompaniment of the elderly. The tool aims to help users of the Espai de Gent Gran in La Seu d'Urgell to be connected, informed, entertained and safe. In short, the virtual assistant in Catalan Cati was born as a result of Markus Urban's final high school project, which won the Exporecerca Jove award in Catalonia and participated in the International Science and Engineering Fair competition in the United States. The project is currently part of the 'Àrees Digitals' initiative of the Secretariat of Digital Policies of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Barcelona Mobile World Capital Foundation and the i2CAT Foundation.
