On Friday, June 13, in the morning, the Xarxa Punt TIC held a new edition of its annual meeting at the Espai Bital, in the town of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat. The Social Internet 2025 Dynamization Conference had nearly a hundred participants who enjoyed a beautiful space for exchange, growth and enjoyment around digital training and digital social innovation. In this sense, digital skills and their link with Punt TIC were the central axis of the program of the annual meeting of the Xarxa Punt TIC and featured presentations, workshops, talks, activities and many more surprises.
Thus, the Social Internet Dynamization Day 2025 began with the accreditation process for participants, who received a very special gift: a NecesserTIC. On February 9, 2024, as part of the celebration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, the NecesserTIC - NTIC was presented, a digital social innovation project by the Punt TIC Smartcentre de Santa Bàrbara and the Ajuntament de Santa Bàrbara, with the support of the Xarxa Punt TIC and the i2CAT. The initiative aims to break with gender stereotypes and do so especially within the field of technology. By changing the perspective of the object, it is intended to promote the visibility of women, their talent and their capabilities within the technological sector. This year, at the Social Internet Dynamization Day 2025, nearly a hundred units of the NecesserTIC were distributed, which over the course of a year of the project has added more than a thousand replicas.
One of the novelties of the annual meeting of the Xarxa Punt TIC was the moderation, which was carried out by the journalist and comedian Ana Polo, who gave a dynamic and fresh touch to the event and alerted people who calmly go around the world with their mobile phone in their pocket and their flashlight on. The institutional welcome of the Social Internet 2025 Dynamization Day was given by Sandra Ruiz Peralta, general director of Digital Economy and Society, and Mónica Acebo Pérez, head of the Digital Inclusion and Training Service. "We want to enable citizens to make responsible use of new technologies. In this objective, the Punt TIC have a key role. You are our eyes in the territory. You are our ears in the territory. In short, you are a key piece within the Catalan digital ecosystem", stated Sandra Ruiz Peralta, general director of Digital Economy and Society. "I firmly believe that technology is not just about machines and algorithms. "Technology must be a great training machine and a great empowerment machine for people from all over the territory", added Mónica Acebo Pérez, head of the Digital Inclusion and Training Service.
The round table 'Estratègies per acompanyar la ciutadania en transformació digital' was then held, where experiences and reflections on digital skills were shared from a local, national and international perspective. Moderated by Ana Polo, the speakers were Stefano Kluzer from All Digital, who explained that "The Xarxa Punt TIC is part of All Digital, a group of European entities and institutions that work, disseminate and bring digital skills closer together using the DigComp competence framework", and Montse Guitert Catasús, professor of psychology and educational sciences at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, who explained that "We are deploying a new ACTIC that is under the umbrella of DigComp and that, for example, incorporates artificial intelligence, and how this new technology is having a strong impact on digital skills". Also speaking were Guillem Porres Canals, representative of Somos Digital and the Fundación Esplai Ciudadanía Comprometida, who announced that "One of the great challenges in the competence area is how people understand this need. We must strengthen the emotional link between competence frameworks and what people want and need", and Laura Copete Trujillo, head of digital inclusion at Barcelona Activa, who shared that "Unfortunately, citizens do not know what their level of competence is. Often, we think that just because we have a digital device we know how to use it. Citizens must be made aware of the importance of training in order to make critical, responsible, conscious and safe use of technology".
After a brief round of questions about DigComp, the 20 years of the Somos Digital association, the new ACTIC model and the Digital Skills Test, a nice family photo was taken. Then, the coffee break began, a very special moment to network, exchange feelings and discover more about the community of the Xarxa Punt TIC. At this point in the Social Internet Dynamization Day 2025, it was possible to enjoy another of the novelties of the annual meeting of the Xarxa Punt TIC: an exhibition fair of fourteen initiatives, projects and activities promoted by the Punt TIC and linked to digital skills. The aim of the exhibition fair was to get to know first-hand some innovative and transformative experiences.
Then, a debate and four practical workshops were simultaneously held, which allowed for the implementation of exciting proposals for working on digital skills. Specifically, the 'Data Detox Kit' workshop was offered by DonesTech, Canòdrom and Oficina Tècnica i de Dinamització de la Xarxa Punt TIC, where a list of free software tools and resources was shared to rethink the use of the Internet and in-depth discussions were held on digital well-being, data privacy and security. The 'Aprèn a allargar la vida del teu ordinador' workshop was also held by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and Pangea, where an attempt was made to lose the fear of fixing digital devices and learn how to extend their useful life by dealing with programmed obsolescence. Likewise, the workshop 'Guanya el Hacker' was offered by the Agència de Ciberseguretat de Catalunya, where a dynamic was organized to open the debate on habits within the digital environment that allowed first-person experiences linked to Internet risks to be discussed. Similarly, the workshop 'Fedivers i xarxes de comunicació alternatives' was carried out by experts in fedivers and Colectic, where a participatory game was played that allowed the visualization of the data journey from a satellite to computers or mobile phones, reflection was made on the importance of servers and who stores our information and the fedivers was introduced, a universe of federated and decentralized networks such as Mastodon, Pixelfed, PeerTube or Lemmy. Finally, the debate 'Punt TIC ‘influencer’: protagonista de l’oferta formativa per a la ciutadania' presented several initiatives that work on digital skills such as, for example, 'Més Digitals' and 'UOC Rural Digital' which can become great opportunities for collaboration for Punt TIC.
Finally, Ana Polo said goodbye to the Social Internet 2025 Dynamization Conference, which concluded with a message of warmth, gratitude and recognition to Ricard Faura, former head of the Digital Inclusion and Training Service, who recently retired. The screening of an emotional video about Ricard Faura's career at the head of the Xarxa Punt TIC program and a tasty cake closed the meeting.
