For the 2016 edition, Code Club Australia created a series of coding activities with space themes. It was a success and beat the children's coding record. By 2017 they have set out to go even further, opening the activity to boys and girls from all over the world.

Moonhack is an event aimed at children and young people between 8 and 18 years old. They can participate individually or in teams. From Code Club Australia they explain that "on August 15, children from all over the world, in many languages ​​and from all time zones, will be 'moonhacking'."

The web portal of the initiative offers programming activities that can be exploited. Participants can also present their own projects, which will have to focus on the moon .

To participate, you must sign up for the Moonhack website. It is possible to register with parental permission or do it through a facilitator. Parents, mothers and facilitators will be able to access a series of useful tips on how to support young people. On the Moonhack day, on August 15, they can upload the completed project. If it is not possible to work on the project the same day, it can be done before.

Libraries, schools, telecentres, offices... are spaces where this activity could be carried out.
