As part of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, which is commemorated on February 11, and Women's Day, which is commemorated on March 8, the Punt TIC Smartcentre de Santa Bàrbara and the Ajuntament de Santa Bàrbara, with the support of the Xarxa Punt TIC and i2CAT, will present the 'Necesser TIC' on Friday, February 9. The event will begin at 10 a.m. with the reception and accreditation of attendees. Then, at 10.30 a.m., the event will begin with the speeches of Liliana Arroyo, directora general de Societat Digital de la Generalitat de Catalunya, Antonio Ollés, alcalde de Santa Bàrbara, and Ana Maria Panisello, regidora de Noves Tecnologies de l’Ajuntament de Santa Bàrbara. Then, at 11 a.m., the 'Necesser TIC' will be presented by Mercè Fort, dinamitzadora del Punt TIC Smartcentre de Santa Bàrbara. «The 'Necesser TIC' includes a camera protector, a memory adapter, a USB, a mobile phone port adapter, a small set of screwdrivers and a few other surprises. In short, it includes several technological elements that an ICT facilitator needs», explains Fort. «The 'Necesser TIC' wants to break schemes and prejudices and fight against phrases like, for example, 'And you, do you already know how to use all this?'», adds Fort. Then, at 11.15 a.m., the experience of Elisabet Bonfill, oceanographer and founder of the company Plàncton, will be heard.
Then, there will be a coffee break with a space to create synergies and share knowledge. Then, at 12.15 p.m., five participatory debate tables will be organized which will be facilitated by a leading woman who will speak from her experience on a specific topic: the rural world, entrepreneurship, digital privacy, sexist violence and gender stereotypes in new technologies. Finally, at 1.15 p.m., Ricard Faura, cap del Servei d’Inclusió i Capacitació Digital de la Generalitat de Catalunya, will close the event. As a final cherry, you can visit the facilities of Punt TIC Smartcentre de Santa Bàrbara and get to know first-hand the projects and activities that take place.
In essence, the presentation of the 'Necesser TIC' will give the start to the special programming of the Març Lila, which annually promotes the municipality of Santa Bàrbara to claim the role of women and the gender perspective. «Every year, we organize the Març Lila. Last year, for the first time, we wanted to connect women and new technologies and created whistles with 3D printers. This year, we wanted to repeat the synergy again», says Fort. «This time, however, we are much more ambitious and we want our idea, 'Necesser TIC', to be replicated throughout the territory, for the maximum number of agents, administrations, associations and entities to listen to the project and carry it with drive and determination in their towns and cities», concludes Fort.
