The Punt TIC Centre Cívic Vista Alegre (On Lab) has joined the Xarxa Punt TIC. Currently, the Punt TIC facilities host the training sessions of a digital training module and a digital manufacturing space. «This building was an old school that for various reasons was closed, moving the students. A few years ago, it was rehabilitated and it was decided to install here a space for training in the digital field», explains Juan Manuel Montero, promoter of the Punt TIC Centre Cívic Vista Alegre (On Lab).
At the moment, in the municipality, with the collaboration of the Employment Service of Catalonia, three training modules are being offered as part of the Casa d'Oficis municipal initiative. Specifically, the Punt TIC Centre Cívic Vista Alegre (On Lab), located on Carrer Cervantes, corner of Carrer Ramón y Cajal, in the town of Castelldefels, hosts the digital training module. «Initially, we started with a single care module for people. Then, we incorporated a module on rehabilitation. Three years ago, we added the digital training module», says Montero. At the same time, the Punt TIC Centre Cívic Vista Alegre (On Lab) has a digital manufacturing space that will soon promote activities, workshops and proposals open to the public. «We want to bring the residents of the municipality closer to 3D printers, laser cutting and vinyl cutting. At Punt TIC, we want to teach prototyping, to learn about digital manufacturing and to experiment», points out Alejandro Aliaga, director of On Lab Castelldefels. Likewise, the Punt TIC Centre Cívic Vista Alegre (On Lab) offers small training pills to get started in the world of IT, open to the public.
