Next Friday, January 31, from 5 to 7 p.m., the Canòdrom. The Ateneu d'Innovació Digital i Democràtica. will host the 'FediFesta', a celebration to accompany associations, entities, groups and neighbors in their move to the fedivers, a digital space built from the common good and with healthier, freer and more responsible social networks. The aim of the celebration will be to promote profound digital changes and collectively rethink the use of social platforms. Inspired by the old 'Install Parties', the meeting will seek to become a transformative community space where people can make the leap to fedivers, a set of decentralized social networks that put people at the center. During the 'FediFesta', participants will be supported in creating accounts on fedivers, explaining how it works and reflecting on free culture and technological degrowth, as well as getting to know the associations, entities and groups that are part of it.

In this context, last Monday, January 20, more than a hundred associations, entities, groups and individuals joined the 'Som-hi juntes' initiative . The dissemination and awareness-raising action consisted of the publication of more than a hundred messages through social networks and digital channels inviting people to open profiles on Mastodon, one of the best-known social networks in the fedivers. The 'Som-hi juntes' initiative was developed over the past few months from the social and solidarity economy environment and quickly expanded among people who identified with the values of cooperation, autonomy, sustainability and respect for open digital communities. Along these lines, many other initiatives have emerged in recent days, such as 'La Furgo' , a campaign to facilitate an organized transfer of group accounts from commercial social networks to self-managed social networks.
