Last Wednesday, May 17, the city of Girona hosted the third edition of BxCat, the Catalan blockchain and metaverse fair, organized by the CBCat of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce with the support of the Generalitat de Catalunya. About 450 people came to the Palau de Congressos Auditorium in the city of Girona to delve into the latest developments in these cutting-edge and disruptive technologies.
During the event, the participants were able to listen to thirty presentations and round tables on various topics such as, for example, the application of blockchain in sustainability, cyber security, NFTs as community building tools or the creativity in the metaverses. Among the attendees, Jordi Baylina, technical leader of the company Polygon, stood out; Montse Guàrdia, president of the Social Council of the UPC, or Sergi Sagàs, innovation director of the company Hyperreal. In the same way, around twenty technology companies participated, such as Vottun, Fundació Nord, Byppay or Blue Room Innovation, sharing their projects. BxCat, the Catalan fair for blockchain and metaverses, sought to spread blockchain, decentralized technologies and metaverses among Catalan society and the business and productive fabric of the territory with the aim of promoting its adoption and promoting its knowledge.
Along these lines, through the CBCat website of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, you can access several free training modules, taught by experts in the technology sector. The training aims to introduce people interested in blockchain technology.
