This 2023, the city of Barcelona will host the final event and award ceremony of the Technovation Girls Catalonia . Specifically, around 200 girls between 8 and 18 years of age will present around fifty technological solutions to solve social problems. The proposals, which will revolve around artificial intelligence and mobile applications, will be held next Saturday, May 20, at 9 a.m., at the headquarters of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, in the facilities of the Vertex building.
In 2009, Technovation Girls was born, a global initiative that seeks to increase female participation in the technological field, where women only represent 30% of the workforce. This year, girls from sixty countries have presented 2,100 social projects. In Catalonia, around 300 girls between the ages of 8 and 18 have taken part. Of these, around 200 have reached the grand final. Distributed in teams, they will present business proposals and artificial intelligence solutions and mobile applications to solve social problems detected in their environment. The teams will be divided into three different divisions: begginer (between 8 and 11 years old), junior (between 12 and 15 years old) and senior (between 16 and 18 years old). In addition to presenting their projects, they will be able to participate in technological workshops on augmented and virtual reality, robotics or programming.
