Within the framework of the Open Innovation Challenge promoted by ACCIÓ, the Agency for Business Competitiveness of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the 'AiMA' tool has been born, a virtual assistant that offers intelligent and empathetic digital support. Specifically, it is a realistic human figure that can speak, see, listen, remember and ask questions. Specifically, the prototype can offer conversation, support in monitoring treatments, remember medication guidelines, send notifications if a change in the person's health status is registered and alert caregivers. Similarly, the prototype can act against lack of movement. In essence, the virtual assistant wants to deal with unwanted loneliness, social isolation and the risks that arise from it, such as, for example, health complications derived from the emotional state of the elderly or people who are in a situation of dependency, as well as improve human interaction with new technologies. Developed by the Althaia Foundation, the University Assistance Network of Manresa, and the Catalan company AiMA Beyond Artificial Intelligence, the virtual assistant is currently in a testing phase.
