Only 30% of women at the international level work in the web development and programming sector .
With the aim of improving statistics and breaking stereotypes of gender, CodeOp goes off , a school of women's programming in Barcelona, which wants to encourage women, transgender people and people of non-binary gender to become a place within the technological world by providing them with the skills needed to become potential developers and data engineers and to foster a network of solidary professionals that transform the culture of technology.
Katrina Walker , CEO and founder of CodeOp, and Almudena Canalejo , former student, tell us about the activity and programs of CodeOp to promote the empowerment and lack of representation of women in the technological field.
"The more diverse the people who create the technology, the better the impact they can have. Until we have women contributing to technological innovation we will not really experience their power," says Walker.
