On Tuesday, February 25, the Punt TIC Network held its second virtual meeting of 2025. The new virtual meeting focused on the 'Decidim Kids' initiative and had around fifteen participants, including Anna Inglés from the Colectic cooperative, who presented a module for Decidim that seeks to promote the digital participation of minors by guaranteeing their protection, rights and well-being. The session began with an explanation of the 'Volem Decidir' participatory process developed by Barcelona City Council within the framework of the European Capital of Democracy. Inglés shared the process and listed some of the topics of interest that children and adolescents brought up. Bullying, poverty and animal abuse were the topics prioritized by children, while well-being and health, leisure and recreational activities and public space were the topics prioritized by adolescents.

In this context, the 'Decidim Kids' initiative was launched, a module for Decidim that seeks to promote the digital participation of minors. Inglés explained that the tool opens the door to developing participatory processes with the active involvement of children and adolescents, making them feel like a key part of decision-making. Inglés then identified the different parts of a participatory process: design, moderation, call, communication, registration, digital divide, alliances, online/offline, intergenerational and return. Then, a practical activity was carried out where the challenges, risks and opportunities of some of these parts were analyzed collaboratively. Specifically, the focus was on the call, the digital divide and alliances. Inglés concluded by encouraging the Punt TIC to promote citizen participation in digital environments and to take the first steps into the world of digital participation with children and adolescents.
