With the aim of showing the life cycle of electrical and electronic devices, the Catalan Waste Agency recently presented the documentary 'RE-PLUGGED IN, the invisible destiny of our technology'. The audiovisual proposal, which seeks to raise awareness among citizens and promote the selective collection of these devices, addresses the electrical and electronic devices that surround us and that are essential to our daily tasks. These devices contain materials and products that in some cases can be dangerous to the health of people and the planet, as well as very valuable elements such as gold, silver, copper or aluminum. The documentary 'RE-PLUGGED IN, the invisible destiny of our technology' proposes a surprising journey through the life of these devices, from the origin of the raw materials until users stop using them. What happens when a device stops working? Do we know what the consequences are of generating and consuming so much waste? Do we know enough about the recycling circuit? The audiovisual proposal, which has the collaboration of Andròmines and other entities in the sector, attempts to answer these three questions and many other issues related to the growing challenge of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), as well as promote more responsible consumption, drive collective action, foster sustainability, favor a circular economy at the service of people and the planet and promote second chances for devices.
