The Cybersecurity Agency of Catalonia has launched a program to identify possible vulnerabilities in the websites and mobile applications of the Public Administration. The initiative consists of giving controlled access to a group of computer security researchers specialized in detecting vulnerable points in computer systems, popularly known as ethical hackers. In this sense, the program complements the usual scans, continuous analyses, regular cyber security actions and constant monitoring of systems. So, the initiative makes it possible to reach where the usual measures do not reach, increasing the probabilities of identifying possible vulnerabilities and carrying out an exhaustive supervision.

During the first months of the initiative, nearly a dozen vulnerable points have been identified. Consequently, the Cybersecurity Agency of Catalonia, which continues to transform itself digitally, will accelerate corrective measures and incorporate new resources to shield the situation. Also, the program seeks to promote the talent of the territory and encourage innovation in the IT systems of the public administration.
