Soon, more than 250,000 professionals will be part of the new training program of the Generalitat de Catalunya to promote the responsible use of artificial intelligence tools. The objective will be to strengthen the digital skills of public administration professionals in order to promote daily work with criteria, ethics and security, making public services more efficient and effective and generating a common base of knowledge and learning. Therefore, the new training model will combine training, awareness and innovation to ensure that the incorporation of artificial intelligence is carried out in a way aligned with the values of public services and will have an investment of five million euros.
Specifically, three training itineraries will be proposed, ranging from basic knowledge to specialized use. The first itinerary will be 'Artificial intelligence for a public service in the Generalitat de Catalunya: active, ethical and responsible use' , which will offer a clear and accessible vision of the foundations of artificial intelligence, its uses in the Generalitat de Catalunya and the criteria for critical, ethical and safe use. The second itinerary will be 'Prompts and Copilot Chat' , which will show how artificial intelligence can help write documents, create automatic summaries of meetings, prepare materials, generate ideas, analyze texts or streamline repetitive tasks. The third itinerary will be 'Corporate agents' , which will introduce a more advanced, technical and integrated use of artificial intelligence in complex processes and will exemplify how to create corporate agents, that is, tools created through artificial intelligence that will help automate, optimize and streamline processes and specific needs of each unit, with the aim that the solutions can be extended to other areas of public administration and become possible corporate proposals for the entire public administration.
Along these lines, in-person actions and collective meeting spaces will be promoted, which will allow for reinforcement of learning, sharing of experiences and deepening of the practical uses of technology. The first proposal will be the day 'Artificial intelligence for a better public service' , a three-hour activity that will combine the presentation of the artificial intelligence strategy of the Generalitat de Catalunya, presentations by experts and practical workshops. This first proposal will be repeated periodically and will be able to host more than 100 participants. The second proposal will be the event 'Artificial intelligence week' , a five-day cycle that will allow for addressing artificial intelligence from a strategic and cross-cutting perspective with inspiring conferences with specialists, sectoral working groups oriented towards areas such as, for example, public procurement, human resources or communication, demonstrations of use cases within the public administration and spaces for debate between the different departments. This second proposal will be repeated periodically and will be able to accommodate more than 500 participants.
Finally, the new training model will propose the launch of a digital agent school. Specifically, it will be a practical training space aimed at facilitating the deployment of artificial intelligence agents within public administration. The aim will be for professionals to be able to devise, design and develop their own agents adapted to the specific needs of each unit. Therefore, the digital agent school will support teams so that they can identify the possibilities, correctly define the requirements and develop the solutions. The challenge will be to progressively advance from the individual use of digital agents for personal tasks towards shared and reusable solutions and proposals.
