On Thursday, July 9, from 5 to 8 p.m., Iniciativa Barcelona Open Data , in collaboration with Dones en Xarxa , will organize a data session at the Espai Lidera facilities, located at Carrer de Roc Boronat, number 117, in the city of Barcelona. The session will consist of the analysis of real messages, conversations and comments from social networks and the review of how the artificial intelligence tool classifies them for the detection of digital gender violence. Specifically, the data session will be aimed at young people interested in social networks, technology and communication and committed to women's rights and feminism, and people linked to entities, associations, foundations or community spaces. In this sense, the session will allow for a deeper understanding of how the processes of labeling, classification and review of results of artificial intelligence systems work and will focus on the need for human criteria and a critical perspective to combat sexist biases. The data center will also want to raise awareness among boys and girls about the forms that violence against women takes within digital environments. Thus, the 'Equal' initiative focuses on the detection of digital gender violence and combines data, artificial intelligence and citizen participation. The aim is to transform large volumes of information extracted from social networks into useful knowledge for prevention, awareness and action. Along these lines, the session will aim to improve the tool and generate a more accurate reading of the discourses.
