The Marc de Vilalba Library TIC Point in the town of Cardedeu is finalizing the last details of the first edition of a robotics house. The fun proposal will be designed for boys and girls aged 10 to 15 who want to experiment with new information and communication technologies. Along these lines, the final will of the initiative will be to participate in the successful international competition First Lego League.
For the first time, during the month of July, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., participating boys and girls will learn to use the Lego Education EV3 robot and build their own accessories to solve the missions of First Lego League competition robot game. So, with the help of the Edukem-nos company, the young person will learn to program, to work on innovation and problem solving and to foster creativity.
In this sense, from the ICT Point Biblioteca Marc de Vilalba in the town of Cardedeu, the possibility of creating a stable group that will have continuity from the month of September and become a robotics club that meets weekly will be explored to compete in the First Lego League. Specifically, the space wants to form a team for the 'Challenge' section, which includes boys and girls between the ages of 10 and 16. The First Lego League, which will be held next May 2024, is an international program that encourages hands-on learning of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) in boys and girls aged 4 to 16. The initiative annually proposes the resolution of a challenge related to real-world problems through a scientific project and a guided robotics program.
