The tag #MWCSocial served on March 1 to track Twitter of these two events, which highlighted the most social aspect of innovation.

The president of the Board of Entities of the Third Social Sector , Francina Alsina, welcomed the program of activities of m4Social, noting that only with a social focus on the development and appication of ICT will be that this Revolution reaches all citizens. In addition, he called for the involvement of the mobile industry in the attention of vulnerable groups. In this sense, there were several applications that nonprofit entities use to serve these groups.

d-LAB, a program of the Mobile World Capital Barcelona that offers answers to the social challenges, organized the round table on technological innovation that responds to the social challenges, where innovative social projects were exposed.

We have selected five projects or applications that were presented during these day.

Map of social entities

This application of the Board of Entities of the Third Social Sector includes information on almost 3,500 social entities in Catalonia and is part of the campaign "Defend social rights." Different types of search can be done: by municipality, district, group of people attended and the area of ​​intervention. It is available for iOS and Android.

ProofUp

Proofup is an app that can generate evidence with legal validity in cases of digital harassment, created by the DASCiberbullying insurance company, based in Hospitalet de Llobregat. It has received the first prize of the challenge "How to fight cyberbullying through mobile technologies" of the d-LAB program.

Irisbond

Irisbond eye-tracking technology allows the user to control the mouse cursor with the movement of the eyes, using a standard webcam, without the need for expensive and complex devices. It has also been awarded by the d-LAB program, in this case, in the challenge "Empowering people with disabilities through mobile technologies."

Sensorization of social housing

Four entities from the Table of the Third Sector of Catalonia and the telecommunications infrastructure company Cellnex Telecom collaborate to carry out a pilot project for the application of sensorization and connectivity technologies to homes destined to groups at risk of social exclusion.

Arrels Locator

Arrels Foundation has created the mobile application "Arrels Locator" that allows citizens to warn about the presence of people sleeping in the street. The objective is to have the participation of the citizens to know the state of the situation and thus to draw up policies and actions to fight it.
