Next Friday, March 13, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Escola Vedruna Vall de Terrassa, the 'Women and Robotics' conference will discuss the challenges that robotics poses as a society from a gender perspective.

As part of the WSCITECH: women, science and technology congress, the Terrassa City Council will organize a new activity. Next Friday, March 13, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the 'Women and Robotics' conference will be held in the auditorium of the Vedruna Vall School, located at Carrer del Col·legi, number 9, in the city of Terrassa. The meeting was born from the good results of the last editions of the WSCITECH congress and from the desire to lay the foundations for the new edition to be held in 2027 in order to continue to highlight the role of women in science and technology and awaken STEAM vocations among girls. The common thread of the 'Women and Robotics' conference will be the debate on the challenges that robotics poses as a society from a gender perspective and from an intersectional perspective and taking into account the three areas in which the WSCITECH congress is structured: women, science and technology, women and health, and women and communication. Led by journalist Mariola Dinarès, the meeting will feature several presentations: 'Robots as a tool for diagnosis and therapy' with Alicia Casals from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia; 'Robotics without stereotypes: you don't have to be a genius, you have to dare' with Rita M. Planas Dangla from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia; 'Photonics and artificial intelligence for medical, industrial and agricultural applications' with Meritxell Vilaseca from CD6 - Polytechnic University of Catalonia; 'Robotics and autonomy in daily life in the field of neurorehabilitation' with Loreto Garcia from the Guttmann Institute, and 'Robotics at the Mobile World Congress' with journalist Mariola Dinarès. Likewise, during the 'Women and Robotics' day, different spaces for debate and conversation among the public will be promoted.
