This Tuesday, September 30, the Punt TIC Network held its fifth virtual meeting of the year 2025. In this case, the meeting focused on digital accessibility with Dolors Garcia, Director of Inserta Empleo Catalunya ; Cristian Suárez Henríquez, member of the Department of Technological Accessibility of the ONCE Foundation and Laura García Arch, STEM technician of Inserta Empleo of the ONCE Foundation .
As experiences from the Network, Martí Molins, from Punt Òmnia Isona Conca Dellà and Toni Domènech, member of the Technical and Promotion Office of the Punt TIC Network , participated in the meeting.
The ONCE Foundation has shared the experiences it has in place to promote digital skills and improve the employability of people with all types of disabilities . Through job orientation, inclusion and entrepreneurship promotion programs , the entity promotes initiatives that aim to increase professional opportunities. One of the most outstanding projects is the Programa Por Talento Digital , which brings together a set of measures to improve the training and job placement of people with disabilities throughout the territory. This line of work has the portalento.es attention platform, a digital space that collects resources and services. Given the high demand for digital and technological profiles, the Foundation is also committed to the Campus Inserta Empleo and collaborates with the Cibernàrium de Nou Barris to offer specific training, not only in advanced technical aspects, but also in basic digital skills. These are courses with shorter and more motivating formats that seek to facilitate access to technology.
During a training session, Cristian Suárez Henríquez highlighted the importance of digital accessibility , stressing that this concept should not be limited to disability alone. According to the member of the ONCE Foundation's Technological Accessibility Department, it must be understood from a triple perspective : the diversity of people – taking into account factors such as disability, age or gender – the available means – technology and support products – and the contexts in which it is used – bright environment or noisy situations. To facilitate access to information, there are support products such as screen readers and magnifiers, adapted keyboards and mice, as well as interaction systems using the iris.
Suárez Henríquez also shared a series of practical tips to guarantee the accessibility of digital content , such as using Arial typography, adding descriptive tags to images, applying accessibility filters to ensure correct visualization and avoiding coding information only with colors.
On behalf of the Punt Òmnia Isona Conca Dellà , Martí Molins , spoke about the support and courses for the population that are carried out by the Punts Òmnia, in addition to highlighting that the Xarxa Òmnia provided accessibility materials at all points. Among the materials were mice with a ball or high-contrast keyboards.
Finally, Toni Domènech , member of the Technical and Promotion Office of the Punt TIC Network, explained how Ubuntu 's parameters make it easier to use the system and improve people's experience.
