Data X Dones (Data X Women) is a project of the Barcelona Open Data Initiative that aims to create digital solutions so that women can have more opportunities in the Care Economy. It calls on developers, designers and experts in economic promotion to participate on June 16 in a hackathon. The registration is already open.
The purpose of the hackathon is to obtain a prototype of a mobile application that contributes to promote the economic activity of the service sector to families and households, and from the proximity to the neighborhoods of Barcelona.
The application must respond to the needs of women, such as improving the management of time, promoting networks and collaboration between workers, generating more demand for services, facilitating the location of unforeseen needs and making the professionals services to families and households. These needs have to be met from a gender perspective and rights.
The hackathon will take place on Saturday, June 16th, throughout the day, at the Civic Center Casa Groga of Barcelona (Av. Del Jordà, 27). It is aimed at programmers and application designers, experts in innovation and ICT, and experts in services to families and home.
You can participate in two ways: in a development group with between three and five participants or as a collaborating person, participating on the day of hacking advising one or more groups. Registration can be made until June 12. People who want to participate and do not have a group or need more members in theirs can get in touch with hackato-datos-x-dones [at] googlegroups.com.
There will be three finalist teams, who will be invited to participate in the test and final development of the application, where an incubation process will take place for three months.
For more information, you can consult the bases of the call.
