The Secretariat for Digital Policies of the Department of Business and Employment of the Generalitat de Catalunya has presented the eleventh edition of the DonaTIC Awards. The successful call has begun with the opening of the deadline for submitting candidacies. Therefore, until next Wednesday, April 30, at 2 p.m., those who wish to do so will be able to process the application. In fact, candidacies may be proposed by the female candidate herself or by any other natural or legal person. In total, the eleventh edition of the DonaTIC Awards offers twelve distinctions. In this sense, there are eight categories (Entrepreneur, Businesswoman, Professional, Academic/Researcher, Dissemination, DonaTIC Revelation, ICT Student and reference initiatives) and six subcategories (within ICT Student, there is University ICT Student, Vocational Training ICT Student, ICT Student for requalification and/or improvement of skills and Doctoral ICT Student and within reference initiatives, there is Business Reference Initiative and Entity, Training Center or Institution Reference Initiative). As in previous editions, the categories and subcategories are exclusive, that is, a candidacy can only be presented to one section. Along these lines, the eleventh edition of the DonaTIC Awards also provides for three special mentions in the areas of Cybersecurity, Aerospace and Digital Culture thanks to the collaboration with the Cybersecurity Agency of Catalonia, the NewSpace Strategy of Catalonia and the General Directorate of Innovation and Digital Culture of the Generalitat of Catalonia. Once the deadline for submitting candidacies has closed, they will be evaluated by a jury made up of professionals from the technology sector and the academic, professional, institutional and associative worlds.
The aim of the DonaTIC Awards , which are part of the DonaTIC Plan of the Generalitat de Catalunya, is to highlight and recognise the role and talent of women and increase the representativeness of the group within digital technologies, as well as to offer new contemporary female role models and promote vocations in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Since its first edition in 2015, the DonaTIC Awards have received a total of 777 nominations, consolidating themselves as leading awards within the digital field.
