Next Monday, November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women will be commemorated, a key day to show the rejection of violence suffered by girls, adolescents, young people and women around the world and to express the need to address them and to respond in a clear, direct and effective manner with the aim of eradicating them completely. Within the Xarxa Punt TIC, there are many activities and events that are scheduled throughout the year to make women visible and their transformative role in the field of information and communication technologies, as well as its key presence in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) sectors. This year, from the Xarxa Punt TIC, we want to prepare a collection of activities with the aim of vindicating women's rights and demanding an end to violence.

- 01/11/24 - 30/11/24. Punt TIC del Servei Municipal d’Ocupació.

From Friday November 1 to Saturday November 30, at the Salvador Allende Library in the city of Girona, the exhibition 'Enciclopèdia de Dones STEAM' by popularizers Núria Salan and Sandra Uve will be installed. The exhibition includes interesting profiles of twenty relevant female researchers in the STEAM field with an illustrated portrait and an explanatory text that lists their contributions to the field of technology and science.

- 05/11/24. 5 p.m. Punt TIC del Servei Municipal d’Ocupació.

On Tuesday, November 5, at 5 p.m., in the La Marfà function room in the city of Girona, the round table 'Breaking gender stereotypes at work: sharing experiences' will be promoted, where Laura Planas, Elisenda Caamaño, Anna Fàbregas and Laura Fanals will share their professional trajectories. Then, at 6 p.m., the exhibition 'Encyclopedia of Women STEAM' will be opened by scientific popularizer Sandra Uve.

- 09/11/24. 10 a.m. Punt TIC del Servei Municipal d’Ocupació.

On Saturday, November 9, at 10 a.m., at the Salvador Allende Library in the city of Girona, the 'STEAM Adventure: play, create and learn' activity will be held, where various board games and constructions will be discovered.

- 21/11/24. 11.30 a.m. Punt TIC Smartcentre de Santa Bàrbara.

On Thursday, November 21, at 11.30 a.m., the Punt TIC will host the ‘DonaTIC Day’ in Terres de l’Ebre. The aim will be to promote and recognise the talent, presence and leadership of women in information and communication technologies in Catalonia, strengthen the network of professional women in the Catalan technology sector, give visibility to leading women in advanced digital technologies and inspire new vocations.

- 25/11/24. 5 p.m. Punt TIC del Servei Municipal d’Ocupació.

On Monday, November 25, at 5 p.m., the Punt TIC will promote a digital empowerment workshop for the prevention of gender-based violence with Fem Bloc, a feminist helpline for attention and support against digital violence, where participants will learn online self-defense strategies and digital empowerment for the prevention of gender-based violence and will learn about protection tools and resources.

- 27/11/24. 12 p.m. Punt TIC del Servei Municipal d’Ocupació.

On Wednesday, November 27, at 12 p.m., the Punt TIC will promote the talk ‘What labor rights do women victims of gender-based violence have?’ by Mireia Montesinos, lawyer and associate professor of labor law at Pompeu Fabra University, in order to learn about the rights that women victims can exercise within the framework of their labor relations, especially rights in social security and benefits.
