This program of the Generalitat de Catalunya mobilized last year more than 55 million, including direct subsidies to entrepreneurs and lines of credit or grants to specific initiatives to support the creation and consolidation of companies. This helped the creation or consolidation of more than 5000 business projects.
The program Catalunya Emprèn has been developed since 2012 with the mission of fostering entrepreneurial spirit and promote corporate culture. After giving the results of 2015, the Department of Business and Knowledge, one of the departmanets involved, confirmed that the program will continue to develop in 2017.
Catalunya Emprèn 2015 in numbers:
- Xarxa Emprèn: In 2015 comprised 118 institutions, with about 400 technical support helped to create 3600 companies.
- The start-ups: Start-up program Catalonia, with six accelerator, offered their support through two lines: Pla Embarca (first acceleration sales) benefited 80 companies and Línia Esprint plan helped 20 companies to go abroad.
- Self-employment: Consolida't program, which supported more than 630 self-employed workers, and undertakes line, which granted 232 loans totaling 13 million euros.
