With the aim of vindicating the figure of the first female programmer, Ada Lovelace Day is celebrated annually on the second Tuesday of October. Ada Lovelace was a British mathematician and writer recognized as the first female computer programmer, who was born on December 10, 1815 and died on November 27, 1852 and who carried out meticulous research on a mechanical calculator designed by mathematician Charles Babbage. With this tool, Ada Lovelace developed a computer program using a coded algorithm to be processed by a machine. This program allowed the calculation of a sequence of rational numbers developed by mathematician Jacob Bernoulli and, consequently, established the foundations of programming and modern computing. Within this framework, the Punt TIC Network wants to take advantage of the anniversary to recover, highlight and remember the fantastic professional career of Ada Lovelace in the world of technology, science and mathematics, as well as encourage Punt TIC to bring the figure of the first female programmer closer to its users through activities, dynamics and proposals that introduce women role models and promote technological vocations among girls and women.
The Punt TIC Network wants to take advantage of the anniversary to encourage Punt TIC to publicize the figure of the first female programmer among its users.
