Last December, the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Mobile World Capital Barcelona and the Ajuntament de Lleida, with the support of the Cambra de Comerç de Lleida, the Diputació de Lleida and the Fundació i2CAT, presented a pilot project developed with 5G technology that seeks to energize local commerce by offering a fluid, immersive, quality and transformative shopping experience. Through augmented reality, users can go inside the city's historic sites and discover the shops of the Eix Comercial de Lleida. The pilot project, which will last until next Tuesday, January 30, is entitled 'Eix Comercial AR' and proposes the use of a mobile application to enjoy animations, holographic representations, 3D elements and dynamic and digital showcases. The mobile application also provides for an interactive game related to the information received. The intention is to demonstrate the transformative capacity of augmented reality in a commercial context, as well as to give a strong and significant boost to the visibility of local businesses in the city.

Developed by the company Invelon Technologies, the pilot project is part of the Àrea 5G Ponent, which is part of the Àrees 5G initiative to create territorial spaces where different initiatives aimed at promoting 5G technology as a facilitating technology coincide, transformative and full of possibilities.
