"Accessibilitat digital. Les TIC per a tothom" guide. Author: m4social. 2017.

The guide Digital Accessibility. ICT for all is made up of two parts. On the one hand, it offers a collection of good practices for the design of mobile applications and web pages accessible to all, and recommendations for developing accessible content. On the other hand, there are four cases of success where accessible solutions have been developed and where the participation of the public administration and social entities has been key so that the solutions were designed in accordance with the needs of users.

Success stories are:

  1. Large format accessible printers: Project between Hewlett-Packard (HP) and the Special Education Center of Pont del Dragó, where users and students with functional diversity of the CEE Pont del Dragó and Odisseny (a special work center of the Foundation Pere Mitjans) periodically visit HP's headquarters in Sant Cugat del Vallès to evaluate the final product, the printer, ready to go to the market, and study proposals and design concepts for future prototypes.
  2. Web of the World Day of Accessibility: A project of AGILS Accessibility. It has partners like FC Barcelona and the City Council of Barcelona, among others. AGILS has advised that the website created to promote universal accessibility worldwide meets the requirements to be accessible.
  3. Accessible party programs: A Wheris project. It consists of a "free mobile application for the end user", for which you can receive the contents ordered with a series of indexes of the printed document and where the user can navigate. The goal is that people with visual, auditory and reading comprehension disabilities have through the app access to an organized reading of the printed content.
  4. Alternative communication: An Irisbond project. Facilitate a digital communication medium for people with different disabilities. The solution is based on eye-tracking technology, or eye movement tracking, which allows precise control of a computer through the movement of the eyes. More than 700 people use the application in Spain, Chile or Argentina.

m4social is a project of the Taula d'entitats del Tercer Sector Social, which connects social action and the technological world with the objective of "accelerating the digital transformation of people's attention and contributing to empowerment of the citizenship and of the social entities". In its web portal you will find articles that summarize the different round tables that were held at m4Social Day 2017.
