The free online programming platform for children and young people encourages its ommunity to organize an activity during the month of May to celebrate the Scratch Day). This year, moreover, Scratch will turn 10, so there are two reasons to celebrate.
Scratch Day is a global network of events that celebrate Scratch. These meetings bring together young people of the community of this platform for sharing programming projects, learn from each other and welcome new members. This year celebrations are being made in the month of May, coinciding with the tenth anniversary of this project.
On the website of the initiative you will find a map with more than 200 activities scheduled so far. You can participate in these or organize one of your own. Just think about what you need, and how and where you want to make it, and register the event at the website of Scratch Day. The person registering the activity should be more than 18 years old and she or he will have to register as an organizer.
To mark the tenth anniversary of Scratch, they are asking the community to send videos using this platform. With all the material received they will create the video of the 10 years of the project. The videos can be sent to scratchday [at] scratch.mit.edu.
